Ferret Last SupperWhile they were eating, Jesus took the kibble, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his ferrets, saying “Take and eat, and dance around like little maniacs; for this is my body, albeit in a slightly smaller, crunchier form.” But the ferrets turned their noses up at the kibble, for it was not kibble to which they were accustomed to eating. Jesus ignored this and took the cup of ferretone, or rather, attempted to take the cup of ferretone, which was strangely missing from the table. For the ferrets had quietly stolen away the cup by pushing it off the table, and stashed it underneath a chair where they could lick it in secret. Jesus sighed heavily, gave thanks and offered it to them anyway, saying “Lick at the cup, all of you. This is a tasty little treat, which you have poured out all over the floor for many for the forgiveness of…oh, nevermind.” Then the ferrets danced joyfully with wild abandon around the room, and promptly fell asleep in a corner while Jesus went off to the garden to pray. |
